ENTRY 3
Identifying bias
ITEM 1:
- Discrimination
- Analysis: In this cartoon, the Black boy has a weight ball attached to his ankles as a criminal. Then, the White boy steps up on the body of the Black boy to get on the ledge. In fact, the White boy has appologized for being racist, but he's already approach the ledge. It's deeply offending behaviour of the White boy against the Black boy.
ITEM 2:
- Stereotype
- Analysis: All African-Americans are good at playing basketball. There are large percentage of professional basketball players are Africa-American origin.
ITEM 3:
- Prejudice
- Analysis: In the cartoon, politicians are transfering money from one's hand to another's hand in endless line, which denotes that all of them are becoming corrupt.
i think your final item is discrimination. Because it is shown out by action.
Trả lờiXóaDear friend,
Trả lờiXóaI have some small comments for you:
- Your items is intresting and cleary analysises
- You should add sources of these items
- You should choose various types of examples, not only pictures generally and cartoon in paticular.
- I agree with Phuong about item 3. As society had prejudice with politicians's corruption and in the cartoon, it shown "transfering money from one's hand to another's hand in endless line" => it's discrimination
I strongly suggest that you fĩ some mistakes. For example, the sentence "There are large percentage of professional basketball players are Africa-American origin" in your 2nd item should be "A large number of professional basketball players have African-American origin"; "corrupted" instead of "corrupt".
