Love Story
There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she’s blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He’s always there for her.
She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she can see everything, including her boyfriend.
Her boyfriend asked her, “now that you can see the world, will you marry me?” The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend is blind too, and refused to marry him.
Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying. “Just take care of my eyes, dear

Item 3: poem
butterfly fly away
You tucked me in, turned out the light
Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that
Brushed my teeth and combed my hair
Had to drive me everywhere
You were always there when I looked back
You had to do it all alone
Make a living, make a home
Must have been as hard as it could be
And when I couldn't sleep at night
Scared things wouldn't turn out right
You would hold my hand and sing to me
Caterpillar in the tree
How you wonder who you'll be
Can't go far but you can always dream
Wish you may and wish you might
Don't you worry, hold on tight
I promise you there will come a day
Butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away, butterfly fly away
Flap your wings now you can't stay
Take those dreams and make them all come true
Butterfly fly away, butterfly fly away
We've been waiting for this day
All along and knowing just what to do
Butterfly, butterfly, butterfly, butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away
Butterfly fly away
Kept me safe and sound at night
Little girls depend on things like that
Brushed my teeth and combed my hair
Had to drive me everywhere

in item 2, in my opinion, the other rhetorical device is irony- the ingratitude and unempathy with the same plight people. More over, the moral lessonis message the author want to give us, so it shouldnt be "the man in story". I think the mesage in this story is that everyone should sympathy with the plight and help them in capable. Once more message is that we should keep promise
Trả lờiXóaI think the massage of this story in item 2 is that we should value sincere, noble love and be unselfish as well as aprreciate sacrifice for us
Trả lờiXóaI would like to add another rhetorical device in your item 3 that is rhythm: Light-night, alone-home, might-tight
Trả lờiXóaI agree with you up to a point in item 3, however, the message in this item is that our parents always support us and each of us can fly away to make our dream come true.
Trả lờiXóa
Trả lờiXóa1. Item 2:
-Rhetorical device:
You should express your idea about metaphor clearly. I suggest:
Metaphor: The blind girl = selfish, unconfident, ungrateful person.
The boy = kind, emotional person.
The boy’s eyes = his love for the girl.
-Message:
I think the message is not simple as you mentioned. This is my opinion.
Message: When we have trouble in life, we should appreciate and respect for the things others do for us and don’t judge everything through appearance.
2. Item 3: I partly agree with you but I have some contribution:
-Rhetorical devices: I would like to add something about rhetorical device:
+Rhyme: light-night, hair-everywhere, alone-home, night-right, tree-be, might-tight, day-away-stay.
